Mel Sole
Golf Magazine ranks the PHIL RITSON-MEL SOLE GOLF SCHOOL one of the "Top 25 Golf Schools in America" and one of only 12 academies to remain on that list since it first appeared in 1999. The school is headquartered at Pawleys Plantation in Pawleys Island SC, and has four other USA locations in North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri and Pennsylvania. They also have a winter location in Mexico, which is 90 minutes south of Mexico City.
Director of Instruction is MEL SOLE, who is consistently recognized by Golf Magazine as a "Top Teacher in North America." A former veteran of the South African PGA Tour, Mel has 30 years of international teaching success and his roster of clients ranges from CEO's of Fortune 500 Companies to the young boys and girls who attend his Saturday afternoon ‘pro-bono' junior clinics.
Mel is a teaching editor with Golf Tips Magazine and his long-awaited instructional book, called "Golf Step-by-Step," was published in January of 2003.
Phil Ritson, Mel's long-time friend and mentor, and golf coach to Tour greats like Gary Player, regards Mel Sole as "possibly the best teacher I've come across."
Mel and his specially trained PGA Pros work with men and women of all skill levels from beginner to advanced on every part of the game from tee to green.
The Phil Ritson - Mel Sole Golf School also works with corporate clients and has developed programs for Pepsi Co., CitiBank, and many others. Three day schools are most popular, but 1 and 2 day schools plus individual lessons are also offered. Class size is small - 4 or fewer students to 1 instructor. Computerized video analysis with a take-home tape clarifies the instruction and encourages follow-up practice.
