I recently had some new clubs made for me at one of the "knockoffs" shops on the internet.
not only did it help me in realizing more about using proper alignments and practices that I had a problem with, in
not having what i needed for "my" type of swing.
that for me was the key to shaving off
about 8 strokes and going this summer at my club from a 16 handicap to an 8 handicap and I am going to practice, practice and practice.
that is the true way to get better.
also do yourselves a favor and put some $$ into your game by getting a "pro" to give you some lessons. It helped my game

I have an 11 0'clock or worse divot on 90% or more of my shots. I know it is an ovr-the-top move and I have tried everything from starting my left hip on the downswing to trying to drop the club in the slot, but nothing seems to help. I noticed my I come out of the shot, so I wonder if I am lifting my left shoulder too high on the downswing? Does this make any sense? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Leland.

Just had a lesson on this problem. My hitting to the right was caused by bailing out of my swing too soon. Your shoulders should be parallel to your intended line at impact. Hitting to the right means that your torso was already turning left at impact.
