New Putters Abound for 2003
LOUISVILLE - New putters abound this year from Louisville Golf.
The star of the new class is the Louie3 True Center which incorporates
a center portion of Persimmon that gives the putter extreme heal/toe
weighting. Louisville Golf has also added Copper to the Stimp
Series and will unveil a new model to the Earthwoods line.
Three
New True Center Putters
The Louie3 is the fourth putter in the Louie line, named after our
namesake city, Louisville, now the 16th largest city in the United States.
Its brass heel/toe construction is divided by a center piece of Persimmon
which acts as both a bridge and an insert. The light weight of the Persimmon
bridge accentuates the heel/toe weighted design of the putter while
the Persimmon insert provides a very soft and responsive feel at impact.
"This is the putter we have been developing for several years.
We are really excited that we are now able to release it,"
said Josh Fischer, Vice President of Marketing. "It is a
putter that feels tremendous putting the ball. Its feel is unlike
any other putter out there."

The Louie3 True Center comes in a right-handed model only with
a suggested retail price of $125.
The True Center family of putters also received a pair of new
additions incorporating its original design - the first left-handed
version of the putters (TC-1L) as well as a center shafted design
(TC-3C). SRP: $115.
Stimp Series Receive Copper Insert
The
Stimp Series of putters includes three models designed for varying
speeds of greens. The Stimp 8 is designed for slower greens. Fifteen
grams of weight is added to the Stimp 8 as well as one degree
of loft. The Stimp 10 is designed for average greens while the
Stimp 12 is designed for faster greens. The head weight of the
Stimp 12 is 15 grams light and one degree of loft is removed.
This year Louisville Golf added copper to the face of the Stimp
Series to accompany its copper soleplate to create a consistent
look and feel.
"The copper insert and copper soleplate really gives you
a great feel on the greens," said Mike Just, President of
Louisville Golf. "Copper has long been used a material that
gives the golfer a true feel around the greens. It was a natural
move for us to put it into our Stimp Series."
Suggested retail price of the Stimp putter is $130.
Earthwoods Line Gets Gets New Model
The
popular and beautiful Earthwoods putter line will be getting a
new addition in 2003. Louisville Golf will replace the EWP-1 model
with a new layup of premium species. The new EWP-1 model is made
of a Walnut base, a Mahogany ring and a Curly Maple cap. It is
available in the right hand only with a suggested retail price
of $150.
"These premium woods became available to us and we laid up
some prototypes," said Just. "What we came up with could
be the most handsome Earthwoods putter we have produced."
