Newly Designed
SMART2 Fairway Woods
LOUISVILLE - Once thought to be an out of date head material,
Louisville Golf has returned Persimmon as a choice for golfers.
The world's leading manufacturer of wood-centric golf clubs, Louisville
Golf has led a mini-revival thanks to designs like the SMART and
SMART2 Persimmon Driver and the NIBLICK Persimmon Fairway Woods.
The next addition to this critically acclaimed group of clubs
is the SMART2 Persimmon Fairway Woods.
"We
have always offered fairway woods to accompany our SMART drivers
but have never spent the time on them like we have on our other
clubs innovating and improving their design," said Mike Just,
President of Louisville Golf. "We really took a hard look
at our SMART2 fairway woods to see where we could improve them.
"What we decided to do was try to get the weight back and
low of the clubhead. One advantage to having Persimmon to work
with is we can move the weight around very easily."
Louisville Golf incorporated the new Copper Lift Rudder and a
new soleplate design to move weight around in the clubhead. Fixed
low under the soleplate and positioned in the back of the head,
the Copper Lift Rudder eases lift and enhances the Gear Effect
of Persimmon. The further back the center of gravity is placed
on a Persimmon clubhead, the greater the Gear Effect.
Gear Effect imparts self-correcting spin on balls mishit on the
toe or heel. Persimmon due to its roll and bulge and center of
gravity has more Gear Effect than clubs made out of metal.
"We are trying to change the perception that golfers have
about Persimmon because it simply isn't true," said Josh
Fischer, Vice President of Marketing. "Many golfers would
greatly benefit from the feel and playability a Persimmon fairway
wood would give them. The SMART2 just happens to be one of the
best choices because we have made some improvements that you just
couldn't do with a fairway metal."
The SMART2 Persimmon Fairway Woods comes in both right and left
handed models and two stains: Mahogany and Blonde.
